I'd like to put out to general discussion the idea of developing the value of the forum as a resource by creating two new sections:
1.(b) High Voltage News. Topical, technical news items likely to be of interest to our members.
1(b) Research news, including abstracts of current research papers in the scientific literature.
2.(a) Book Reviews: Short, well-written critiques of books past and present likely to be of interest to our members.
2. (b)An ongoing searchable bibliography.
The HV News section could do best to have a separate comment channel attached to it, so reader comments didn't interrupt the flow of the news itself.
Special moderation rules and posting conditions should perhaps apply to these sections, to preserve the integrity of the content.
There being enthusiasm sufficient to justify these developments, and Admin giving it the green light, I am offering myself as the news coordinator, and will do what I can to get the new sections off the ground as an on-going project.

I had an idea of a "Project of the Month" poll some time ago. Currently there are quite a lot of project threads which aren't very informational and well documented at all. This poll thing could encourage people to put more effort in documenting their latest projects, and maybe also get some fame for the project Is this kind of a poll possible?
