So I've recently needed to remove the anodized aluminum oxide from a flat bar of aluminum for a SCR clamp, however I would like to avoid mechanical removal methods (lots of particulates, not good for anyone's health) and I've been doing some reading on various chemical methods...
I've seen a few processes, all of which involve conc. nitric acid and some other acid (oxalic, chromic, etc), however I've been wondering if there is an electrochemical process that sidesteps the nasty chemicals. While I have access to the chemicals, I'd like to avoid making waste and in general no need to acquire 4L jugs of the stuff when all I'd need are 10's of mL's....
