Hi all, I am posting a little old project, that me and Alexandre (From Tesla Brasil) made.
It is a small flyback with a ZVS Inverter supplied with three 12V battery in series.
We made only for testing purposes, to see "what happens" and that is the result :P
Simply and fast setup with an unfinished secondary :P

6nF 12kV cap bank, about 40cm sparks to air :D

Here is the video, and attached the photos:

Eh, that's pretty cool!

Do you have any more details you'd like to share?

Yes =)
I didnt take any pics of the setup but in the video, on the end of it, it have a video of me drawing arcs in the zvs driver, in that part you can see the entire setup.

The ZVS was made with IRFP260 and instead the ultrafast diodes, I used 1N4007 (worked very fine), 1uF 600V Siemens cap. A small 9kV Flyback from a 5'' TV, running at 12kV (very close to the Cap Bank voltage rating). The primary is 10 turns of 65mm copper pipe.
The flyback was imersed in oil to contain the heat and the corona, but after 3 days of testing of that sgtc, the entire flyback case get much heat and the oil gets burned :P

Secondary, 40cm of 4'' PVC tube with 30cm of 24AWG coil...

nice work!

I see in your video how the primary was made, no coil formers right? close coupled to the secondary with big distance between primary coil windings? same setup on the video?

I too am experimenting with the primary coil... flat pancake but looks like I cant get too much from it ( I get close to 7" arcs with flat pancake primary 6T with ID of 4.4") my secondary COIL is 3" dia x 8.5" length..

my zvs driver driven with 40Vdc @ 8A

Did you mean to say "6.5mm"? The pipe doesn't quite look to be 6.5cm in diameter.
