Hello, I'm a first-timer at tesla coils and I'm building a Spark Gap TC, so sorry if this is a dumb question. I've been looking around a for an answer on this but I can't seem to find any. (Maybe I'm just a bad searcher)
All coils I've seen use normal copper tubing for the primary coil, but will plastic insulated copper tubing work as well?
The reason I'm asking this is because the plastic insulated tubing is the only one of sufficient length I've found looking around at stores.

If you're looking for long lengths of copper tubing, Home Depot sells 50' of 3/8" soft copper for around $40. But don't look for copper tubing, it's typically labeled as refrigerator coils.

Plastic insulated copper tubing is often used for water installations in Denmark, heating, cold water etc, its just to protect the copper from oxidation and mechanical wear.
