I'm not sure if you guys are familiar with MIT's open course ware, but it is basically free top tier education. It is video of an entire semester taught by MIT professors, including homework and tests/quizzes. You can basically go to MIT for free. In the past I have taken the physics courses and they are excellent. Long story short I am going to take this class:
There is a textbook available on amazon ($85), which is written by the professors specifically for the course. There are 25 video lectures (classes), homework assignments and tests. Physics and calculus would be the prerequisites for this course. I am going to start this course soon and was wondering if anyone else is interested. In the past I was a member of physics forums and I went through those classes with other people. It was very helpful to go through the course with others for discussion. We did one class a week which made it easier for everyone to fit into their schedules.
If anyone is interested in taking this class I would gladly wait a couple weeks for people to get the book. I already have the book and I can say it is not for beginners. The prerequisites are a must and a general knowledge of electronic components would not hurt. If anyone is interested reply here or shoot me a PM. If no one is interested it's cool. I'll let you know how it goes.:-)

I would be somewhat interested especially if other people could help everyone work through the problems together... perhaps using ventrillo, teamspeak, or skype is an option?

I used Yugma, which I assume is the same idea as the ones you mentioned, and it was great. Having a real person to discuss the curriculum with saves hours of searching when you get stuck. It doesn't take a ton of people to make something like this worthwhile, just a few willing to discuss the lectures and help others when they can.
I'm willing to take the class alone but it might take me a year instead of 6 months with a group.
If people are interested we could set some times that we could discuss the lecture and even vote and decide if we are ready to progress to the next week.
I think it would be great for everyone, as long as you aren't tricking yourself into thinking you meet the prerequisites.
