Okay...sorry for starting a new thread, but I'm doing a total makeover of my system that I was building before. It's looking a lot better now and has some interesting features.
An exponential slope coil form.
A Glass Tee feedthrough I turned myself, so the winding doesn't touch the wood.
Plexi....I love plexi!
Soon to have a nice 26AWG secondary as soon as my Tee plugs are finished.
A good and nice looking strike rail.
Retuned static gap.
If I ever get my 15/60.....A 15/60 source.
Hopefully equidrive for even faster quench.
Oh...and its stained.....YES!...no ugly Pine with shoe prints!

Here's some pics.

I hope to get maximum coupling by vertical adjustment soon too.

Wow, beautifully made Primary coil there!
Looks quite perfect. Good Luck with the rest.

woot! Looks great! I never noticed the shoe prints the first time wink What are you going to use for a toroid?

toroid, I dunno yet. The one I made is really awful! and I wanted to make a really nice smooth one like I see in so many other's pictures. I always buy the corrigated ducting for the job but I'm becoming convinced that you guys buy the other ducting for this purpose. It will have to have some sheet of metal as the central support to be lighter then my wood based one.

Wait until you see the new red magnet wire on the secondary with a real insulator on top. It should look pretty good.

Hi,

I made few smaller toroids out of aluminium tube and they don't look so bad.
I usually connect the circle by poking small holes at ends of both pipes and then 'sewing' them with copper wire, thenI put aluminium tape over connection so it is barely visible.
I use round wooden base at the bottom, secure with poliester cement and pour liquid poliester on the top.

And how on arth did you get your primary so fine and straight?
I cannot make my DRSSTC primary windings not to touch, while on yours I cant see even slight bug! Looks like machine-work...
