Will all this stuff work together I am going to work my ass off for the $2200 that I need to build it I was just wondering if I could get some advice from u guys be much appreciated. I am getting the mother board,CPU.1tb hard drive.combo drive.DVD burner.the case,video card,memory well everything I need for a new computer. Case

Mother board

Video card

PSU

Memory

CPU

I looked everything over I just want to be sure that I wont be left in a bad situation.A lot of money.

I would not use a Raidmax PSU
PC&P 750W MUCH better
if red( matches your ATI) doesn't bother you, same PSU just cheaper
PC&P 750W CF
or
Corsair 750W

I've not had good experiences with Asus boards. I've gone to Gigabyte boards with on-board RAID, made the switch years ago.

As for PSU, I'll only buy Ultra. Little more $ but have a lifetime warranty, and are completely modular. I only plug in the cables I need. In a hot-running box (SLI, quad-core, 4+ harddrives, the less cables restricting airflow the better IMO.

I would reccomend that you do as the others have said but also, I would also reccomend that you go with an intel core 2 processor because it is likely you'll get a faster performing pc for the same price. Other than that, nice choices. I wish I could afford to update my rig, but because of university im stuck with a slow intel q6600 and no video card... (I had to sell it to pay fees)

Yeah I would rather get a Core 2 duo CPU.

As for the PSU, get FORTRON 600w (e.g the GLN line). They are very reliable (afaik they have the lowest failure rate, even lower than PC&P or Corsair) and pretty cheap.

I second this advice. The E8400,E8500 or E8600 are of AWESOME value for the price. Much better than the current AMD cpus. They are very fast and overclock more than the quad cores and cost the same as the AMD you chose. here->

I use an E8500 and an E8400 in my 2 computers at home.

I would also go with the gskill 1066MHz ram instead here->

Its faster and has even more reviews than almost anything from newegg. its great stuff. I have some in my computer. The 1066 has higher bandwidth since its in the middle of the RAM spectrum so its got decent MHz speed plus very good timings. It outperformed the corsair ddr3 I had and then sold on eBay.

Good choice on the video card though. My brother has that one and I have the regular 4870, which is also an awesome card.

Here is a link to my wish list I don't know if u guys can revue it but it is worth a try right. I have gone a little over the $2200 limit but it is every thing I need with out the desk or the computer chair. AMD is the only CPU manufacture I have owned I feel I should maybe stick with them that's not a bad thing right? I have up dated my wish list. And I want to try AMD's new 3.0ghz quad core and revues say I can OC it very well just by changing the multiplier with out upping the voltage changing voltage on a processor makes me kind of nervous.Well here is the speakers that I want

I highly recommend getting an Intel Core Duo or even an i7 (if you want to pay for it) processor over any current AMD Phenom. You'll simply get more bang for your buck. I advised AMD's Athlon processors a few years back because the same was true of AMD then. When/if AMD becomes top dog again, I will advise buying their processors again.

It kills me to think you're spending 2200 on a computer with an AMD processor. The amount of power more you could have with that same amount of cash is insane. Once again I am so happy I didn't buy AMD and I can't stress enough how much you are screwing yourself right now with this. Normally it might not be as big a deal but the intel processors are so much better right now. My brother and I both just upgraded from AMD.

I say just take your 2000$ and buy a voodoo HP firebird. intel 2 quad core 2.3ghz, 4GB RAM, NVIDIA mother board and graphics card.
