Lets say I have a TC secondary and I connect it a) grounded end, b) bipolar (with primary in the middle and discharge between the ends). I guess the bipolar configuration will resonate higher, but how much?

The top load ("the variable air capacitor") capacitance will be lower cause what determines it's value are the Dielectric constant (epsilon) ,but that won't change. Only the dimensions of the "plates" and the dielectric in beetween , so the closer and the bigger the plates are the higher the all around capacitance.

Grounded secondary is typically 1/4 wave resonant frequency. Where you would have a voltage peak at the one end. A bipolar could be treated as two 1/4 wave, but combined is 1/2 wave with the voltage peaks at the ends with a zero node in the middle. Grounding the middle of the bipolar coil ensures that the voltage mode is centered.
