Well, i made a little cruddy winding jig, and it makes winding go sooo much faster. So, i decided if you guys think they could sell for quite a bit, i might do that.
My last secondary did not go well, as you could see, but i wound it when it was dark and all i had was a halogen light on the ground that made it hard to see. The only thing wrong with the one i would is about 6 inches of it has spots that have tiny gaps, only big enough to fit a fingernail into.
Anyway, the planned specs:
*4 inches ID and about 4.25in OD. *Something like sch 30 wall thickness. *24 gauge double build(!!!) insulation thickness wire. *The ends are cut with a miter saw, so they are perfectly flat *A mounting flange(actually a toilet flange) that will be glues using PVC cement. *About 20 coats of polyurethane, the same type as Christopher Hooper used on his coils. *After about 10 coats i will sand to get even and pretty, and i guess again after 15 and maybe on more time before the last coat *I will come up with some way to make a really good solid base connection, probably a nylon screw with brass nuts *prior to winding i would sand and then clean pipe, then coat with polyurethane to seal insuring no water could get absorbed or anything *about 1075 turns *26 inch pipe, 24 inches of winding *maybe some sort of top cap.
If i could sell, how much do you think it would be worth? The biggest problem would be shipping, but i am sure some people would need a secondary so bad(been there, done that) they would not mind paying for shipping, if i can find somewhere to ship it.
At this moment it is a pipe dream, but i know i can make decent secondaries, i just don't know how much people would want to buy from a 15 year old.
