I have been working on my 10" 10kVA TC since march and the project isn't still ready. That has taken the most of my freetime (is there any).

Separate things that I have done (ordered by time):
-max 8kV 100BPS synchronous rotary spark gap (march-april)
-adjustable inductive ballast made from an old transformer core and 16mm^2 copper cable
-I thought my brains out by thinking about tank cap, bought finally 75x 942C20P15K-F (april-june)
-8kV 5kVA quad MOT stack (may)
-10" secondary, almost 100e for all that copper (july-august)
-welded 600x500x200mm 2,5mm/3mm aluminum box for all controlling electronics (september-december)
-moar tank capacitance, 150x Wima FKP-1 0,1µ 1,6kV (currently working on caps' housing)
-three phase 20+kVA 12 MOT stack, out 10,xkV and lots of amps (two phases ready, one waits for time to mount transformers and connect them (october->)

Misc not TC-related:
-singing flyback driver
-ham radio licence
-lots of hours around the 13,8V 50A PSU (under construction)
-big propane flames and misc propane experimentation

8. Built a few 405nm 100mw laser pointers (haven't documented them yet)
9. built a little desk sparker Link2 (for girlfriend)
10. rebuilt my GPS Tracker rev3 (complete from scratch rebuild; taking it out for another launch this weekend)

You just made me realize I haven't gotten anything done. sad This is probably mostly because I've been more into consuming alcohol every friday night, than working on projects. tongue
We'll, I've been working on a few things, but they're all something like 80% complete. I lack the funds to buy all the parts I need and polyprojectitis is starting to be a problem.

-Dual ignition coil power supply. -almost finished
-3.6kVA variac-Almost finished, casing done, meters mounted, needs input and output connectors & fuses
-Started work on a high power SSTC motor, has more parts missing than in place
-Built a bike that was subsequently stolen and destroyed
-Trying to get to be friends with our new cat (a Turkish Van). (WIP)
-A bunch of small projects (<1 day), that were done out of boredom.

Yeah, I know, I've been lazy. I've been using more of my time on metaphysical pondering and writing, which might be due to the increased alcohol intake cheesey

I have a 90% complete phase-angle controller (low duty, snubberless so non-inductive), I only need to attach a few extra bits to make it portable

Nothing too exciting this year, but progress nonetheless:

-Graduated with my BS in EE at UCSB
-Stayed for PhD program in EE at UCSB
-Submitted a NASA research proposal (didn't get accepted, so I'm working on more)
-Quit smoking
-Brought my HV stuff here from home, I hope to use it again soon. I have some doorknob caps that are just begging to be turned into a Marx generator.

Almost no projects. Just a few trivial ones like spiral line generator, Blu-ray laser, HV anti-virus and other things listed here.

Worked 60h/wk av I guess, often more, no holidays and now burnt out big time.

Plus TV exposure in at least 9 countries with more to come, radio, press etc here.

Enough webhits to affect the 4HV server on more than one occasion. (450GB bandwidth last month)

mainly, I have been designing future projects, then building small parts of them or gathering materials, etc... but not the major portions of builds.
this coming year, now that I have my designs, I plan to carry them all out

also, this past year I designed what I think will be my greatest builds: universal pulse and HV supply, and a "unique" encryption program...

and the major things I did in 2k8 were to move my website to a dedicated server, and fix the dynamic IP issues, experimented with E-Ink display modification (still a work in progress), build a Calcium Carbide Cannon, vastly improved my High speed Photography unit (although, not quite to the desired specs... plan to finish that this year)
