My dumb camera downloads the videos that i take onto the computer as mov, and windows movie maker does not support mov. I need to use the movie maker to connect two or more videos together, so if you know of a free program that will connect videos that are mov, that will work as well. I have already tried two things, but neither worked. Just a huge waste of time. Btw i am running windows XP.

Super Converter. Its freeware, and it does everything. Seriously.

It converts to and from pretty much every major format with plenty of options.

VLC handles .mov files quite welll. Also the CCCP, or Combined Community Codec Pack, has the proper codecs for it as well as just about everything else. http://www.cccp-project.net/

CCCP with MPC (media player classic) will just about play any file format (except for those very rare file formats).

Yeah I too use SUPER to transcode the MOVs from my camera (I use output:avi, COPY video stream, COPY audio stream if you don't want to lose quality, otherwise select the required bitrate [ I use the DivX codec].).
Then I open them up in VDub and reduce noise. Export, edit in Movie Maker to merge or cut videos (it likes to freeze with large videos though), export and upload.
