I need two caps: 400-450v, 3500-4000uf
The dimensions should be no taller than 6.75" and 3" diameter. Anyone have them?
I haven't heard from someone on Ebay, so I'm looking here.

Just wanna second these caps, they are very good, i own two. I have charged them to 400-410 volts and hard shorted them numerous times, and they are just fine. They also discharge pretty fast i guess, because there was no voltage left in them after just tapping the two electrodes and the spark is pretty loud considering it is only some 300 joules.

Question about Alltronics - do they do international shipping to Canada without too much fuss? I've been searching for a decent source of robust enough caps for a bigger multistage coilgun or discharge bank for wire exploding....

Edit:
An alternative would be any Canadian capacitor source.... I've scouted out any local sources in Toronto, but within Canada shipping won't be so harsh (just the customs).

Oh yea, i did give the link of these capacitors to someone else on the forum, and they lived outside of the US, and it cost something like 40 bucks to ship one capacitor. I am not sure where he lived, but i am sure you could get it for cheaper.

Oh, and these capacitors would probably be good with wire exploding, because if the wire does explode you will break the circuit before any reverse charge can go into the capacitors, so it would be pretty good i am sure. I would use a protection diode just in case, but i am sure you could omit it completely, but the wire may not break, and it would reverse charge, depending on the inductance from the wires.

And at 312 joules each, it could probably do a good job, but that depends on how fast these will discharge.

Nice to see we're all using the same stores. I smell group buy...

But I just order 2, 4 packs they had. 8 caps should do it; I think they came up to about $50 + S&H. There shipping and handling is ridiculous though.

I'm not sure what the internal resistance of these are. I'm gonna PM cool to see how they worked out for him.

Well, i am now thinking the internal resistance is rather high. Awhile ago i put two in series and charges to 600 volts, and it was very quiet compared to my 2kv 25 joule cap. Also, i could not even blow a small diode up! So i am not sure. BTW i used 1 inch wide strapping to connect the two caps, then about 6 inches of 12 gauge to the 'workpiece'(HEHEHE) and it was very weak. Maybe have been something else though.
