I know this is not really the right place to be asking, but i need to know about this new pill i am taking. It is called budeprion, and it is an antidepressant, because i have been under quite a bit of stress, and i was wondering has anyone had it before? I would like to know before i start having bad side effects.
Post has been edited, i kinda started to just talk about stuff that doesn't really matter, sorry for making all of you read it .

Anyone who lives long enough will have periods when they feel miserable, unhappy, worried and full of doubt, and no one nowadays should think twice about taking an antidepressant if a doctor advises it.
Exercise and being out in the fresh air is almost always helpful, so if you don't do it already, think of going for a ramble, do a spot of fishing, take up a sport, or almost anything that will take you out into sunshine and fresh air on a regular basis. You may not feel like doing anything of the sort, but so long as you keep on doing the same, you will go on getting the same, so now may be a good time to grow a little and try something different to your normal routine.

Good Luck, lad!
Well, i have been having mental problems for i guess all my life. There is alot more reasons why i am depressed too. But, i will occasionally go fishing down at a canal a few blocks away from me(even though it is just a canal you can catch some HUGE catfish, as long as your leg from your foot up to the knee) and i usually go outside and work on stuff, and i walk the neighborhood, looking for stuff or with my friends. I usually lift weights(haven't been for about a month but i started again yesterday cause i finally found them) and i always go to stores, sometimes numerous times a week. But ever since i started getting depressed, which is the past 4 or 5 days, i have not been outside looking for stuff and now all my friends have jobs, so i only go outside just to sit out there or to go to stores. And it has been raining badly today and yesterday.
Oh, i guess i should have said that i was diagnosed with bipolar disorder, but idk if i believe it or not. I think it is just a mixture of anxiety and depression.

I know someone that used it in an attempt to stop smoking and the side effects were quite severe. Sometimes antidepresants can be very helpful in making you able to improve your situation, in other cases they make you stuck halfway and unable to improve further. So it is important to evaluate the effectiveness in the long run to make sure they do more good than harm.
As Harry points out, the environment and situation you live in has a huge impact on your mind. Most likely that is the key to getting better.

Hello, I think it is hard to say whether one anti-D works or not, as it is usually a personal response to the med. The usual method of treating depression is to keep trying meds until you find one that works, or works somewhat. Talking about your problems, along with the meds is the general method of treatment.
Religion alert! I would also like to suggest faith. I dont know how you feel about religion, but if there is any curiosty within you about it, I would give it a try. (It fixed things for me) Get ahold of a Bible and begin reading about other people's problems they had, and how they dealt with them. I can tell you that I found a peace that went above and beyond what drugs can do! (Was already a christian at this point) And I am a very laid back, NON-charismatic christian too! If you ARE a believer, ask people to pray for you. Do not be afraid to ask people to pray for you, and to be there to talk to. Religion alert, over!
Listen to the doctors, and remember to LIVE LIFE ONE DAY AT A TIME. Each day, think about doing a tiny bit more than you did the previous day. Matt

I would try to solve the issue in another way then taking a pill. Just taking a pill wont solve your problem just tackle the cause. Dr spark said that if you keep yourself busy you start to focus on other things that are more fun. I really agree with this this is how I take away my attention on bad things.
I've been a bit depressed too, not as much as you describe though. I was bullied almost everyday in elementary school to such an degree I attacked the people that bullied me. Threw scissors and tables against them. I just wouldn't care what happens afterwards.
But since I started doing hobbies and sports I wouldn't care how much they bullied me. I would just neglect them.
Currently I'm still very busy with electronics, radio controlled hovercrafts, teslacoils, audio, sports climbing, teaching judo and training. They all help me to take away attention from less fun things.
My opinion is that martial arts are very helpful. They'll make you focus on the techniques you have to learn and make you forget everything else at that moment. A martial art will also give you a goal to work for. My life really got better since I started with judo. Now days I assist with teaching judo dor four hours a week and train one hour a week.

My advice is to be very careful about following any advice given in this thread, especially those which regard medications. Life lessons and advice along those lines is beneficial, but when it comes to medications, you should only be talking to your doctor or pschiatrist who is professionally trained and has experience in that area.
Just a quick glimpse of the thread shows several statements regarding medications as blatantly wrong.
So in summary, if you have questions or concerns related directly to your medications, seek out your doctor. He or she is the best person to address and answer those questions and concerns.
Also, note that bipolar disorder and depression are two things altogether which require different methods of treatment, including different families of medications. Again, something you should sit down with your doctor and discuss fully.
Best thing to do is write down all your questions / concerns on a piece of paper, and take that with you when you meet the doctor. This way, you won't forget anything.

Yea, i figured that, but with my psychiatrist we are in and out in 5 minutes, and he obviously doesn't know much about medicine, cause when i went in there last time and told him what was up he said "i really don't know what to do right now, so i will just put you on this pill and see what happens". But, i also go to a psychologist, and she actually knows more that the psychiatrist does about the pills and effects. I am going to make an appointment with her and see what she thinks.
The bottle of medicine is actually quite funny, it says "call doctor if you experience mood changes, sadness, depression, or fear". Hmmm, i guess that just means if problems persist contact doctor :P.
But, another thing is, ever since i got off abilify, i cannot think good. I don't just wander off but i had a very hard time spelling psychologist :P. I usually spell it correct the first time. Ohhhhh, i see, i am already having side affects from this medicine. It says may cause dizziness on the bottle and i cannot see straight, and it took me like 10 minutes to type this. Also, my stomach hurts. Wow, i feel weird right now, so later...

Personally I don't think teenagers should be put on medication, and putting kids on meds is just nuts. I remember there was an article here (in Norway) about kids in the US being put on drugs pretty much from the time they could walk, this Australian article will have to serve as my source. ,23599,23564317-2,00.html During my elementary school years in Canada my best friend was on Ritalin since grade 4. Kids in Norway are seldom put on drugs, and only in well documented cases if so. Point being, mood altering drugs seem prescribed left and right in North America, which IMO devalues whatever some psychiatrist may tell you.

Comforting.
I don't think you rely on drugs this young, Matthew. Remember, try to keep busy with things you like, and we're here if you need someone to talk to.
