recursive question again

foo(s);

System.out.print(o);
}


}


can someone explain how the code executes once it gets to the statement "foo(s)"

this is really confusing for me

and can you do it with an example

say the the stack contains the items 3,2,1
top to bottom.(i.e stack top is "3")

It will push any variables on the system stack, then call foo like normal. When foo returns it will pull the variables off the system stack and continue where it left off, like it would do for any other call.

So during the 3 first iterations it will move the 3 items on the s stack onto the system stack.

When it has pulled 1 off the s stack it will call foo that will just return because the stack is now empty, then it will push 1 bak onto the s stack and so on....

I recommend running code like this line by line in a simulator or debugger because it can get really confusing to see what happens.
