Hi all.

Which way are you all going to be voting in 2008?

Seems that among other things, Barack Obama has supported a Bill to deal with regulating (i.e. taxing) offshore finance centres including the Channel Islands. There is a real possibility that if he wins the election, the main banks over here will move elsewhere for tax reasons, resulting in our economy collapsing.

Obviously this would be very bad for a number of reasons.
Perhaps voting for Sen. McCain would be a good idea after all..

Caution: Special Anti-Drama Rules In Effect! Skip This Post At Your Peril!

If history has taught us one thing, it's that politics and 4hv do not mix well. Most people have the notion that there's one and only one way to think about something when it comes to politics, and everyone else is just wrong and stupid. Therefore, I am going to lay down some special rules:

Feel free to express who you're voting for, or who you would if you could, in the 2008 presidential election. Feel free to explain why, in terms of your candidate's attributes, rather than the other candidate's lack thereof. The first person to attack someone else's opinion, or attack another candidate, gets the thread padlocked and a nice dunce cap avatar until the election is over. You've been warned: keep it positive, keep it polite.

I personally am for McCain. I believe that if Obama wins, our second amendment freedoms will vanish, and our tradition of hunting will greatly diminish. He claims to support our second amendment rights, but he has too long of an anti-gun history to cover it up. gunbanobama.com
Neither candidates are really that great, it's like choosing junk or worse junk.

Chris,

You should probably lock this thread before it even takes off in the wrong direction. Discussions like, regardless of what controls you place on them, never end up good. . .

I agree, Politics, Religion and gun talk tend to stir up muck and really think 4HV needs to keep us growing together, not apart due to the P, R, G……. stance of members…. Just never turns out well indeed! dead

Let’s put all our oomph into dynamic things on this forum. cheesey

Considering that we come from all over the world, I don't think this is a suitable subject, because anyone not from America shouldn't give a rats ass!

Was Andyman trying to get the dunce's cap?
"I believe that if Obama wins, our second amendment freedoms will vanish, and our tradition of hunting will greatly diminish. He claims to support our second amendment rights, but he has too long of an anti-gun history to cover it up. " looks like badmouthing the opposition to me.
Perhaps he didn't see Chris' post saying "The first person to attack someone else's opinion, or attack another candidate, gets the thread padlocked and a nice dunce cap avatar until the election is over"

Andyman wins the dunce cap! I thought we'd get at least a few positive posts in. A thread where people actually talk about the positive aspects of their chosen candidate would have been nice. However, as with most of the political ads I've seen, it's not about how candidate A is going to make your life better -- it's about how candidate B is going to bring about the end times.

Thread locked. Take the politics elsewhere. 4hv.org does not need that kind of negativity.
