Hi all!
I would like to do this SSTC: Link2

And I've some questions:
where is the tank capacitor? Is it the 1.36uF capacitor? Or is it the 10uF capacitor? And how can I calculated it for my secondary? Using a program for SGTC for example? And how can I calculated the turns of my primary?

Thanks you and I apologize for my bad english.

For a common SSTC, yhe Primary Cap is only for DC Block, not to ressoate (that will blow up the mosfets),
so it can be basicly anything far from the ressoant cap. 1uF shouble be ok for most SSTC coils.

I am pretty sure that some one have made a DRSSTC of a SSTC and it was successfully, they just adjusted the DC blocking cap to be resonant. But I don't know who did it.

There's very little difference between a SSTC and DRSSTC in function. Just tune the primary for resonance, and decrease on-time to counter heating. Common IRFP450s have a pulse rating of 56A IIRC, meager compared to the 400A or so common in DRSSTCs, but it still works.

Ok, thank you very much for the replies.

And how can I tune the primary for resonance using about 1uF capacitor?
Because I have a secondary with this characteristics:
Height= 50cm (about 19.68in)
Diameter= 12cm (about 4.724in)
Wire Diameter= 0.28mm (about 0.011in)
Resonant frequency= about 240000Hz (240KHz)
And now how can I calculated the turns of primary?
Regards.

You can use a calculator like this one. Link2

The calc is the same for a DRSSTC and a SGTC,
I was tryed to made a DRSSTC from a SSTC, but no good with mosfets, it didnt get heat, but it explodes after some time running it (I was using a 500V 39A Mosfet from ST, which it have a 180A Pulsed Rate, for comparision, the IGBT from my DRSSTC is 200A Pulsed)

1uF its a little bigger for a DRSSTC, you should use somewhat 15-80nF for IRFP460's pulsed rating. And caution! The voltage at the mosfets get a little bigger than the supply voltage, so do not use IRFP260 for 127VAC Mains! You will get 170VDC after retify the mains, and you can get 250VDC or more when tuned (or not)!

Ok, I understood. Thanks ;).
But I've another questions: is this ( Link2 ) simple to make for the first SSTC? Is IRFP260 good for a full bridge? Anyone have a video (on youtube for example) of this Solid State Tesla Coil (using the same schematics)? What's about the electrical input (because I've to use only 3300W, don't more than it)?

Regards
Simon

None of this is relevant unless you already know how to make a SSTC and want to upgrade to DRSSTC. Standard SSTCs have no tank cap, the inverter itself provides voltage at the right frequency. Simply follow the schematic as shown and it will work like it's supposed to.

As Steve Ward say in the site, the power input is about 1000W, not much sstc's get more power than this, I am waiting for the mini-brick mosfets that I have sampled (free samples) from ST Microeletronics, they have 800V 45A Rating, and can dissipates about 800W Power. I plan to make a BIG SSTC :P

I was made before a Half-bridge of IRFP250, I get 25cm sparks with 450W Input power, and I modulated audio on it.
Link2

You should get almost 4 times size arc of my coil with fullbridge of irfp260.
