The resistance circuit has to be thrown out either way because there was no marking or indication or supply voltage needed. I have yet to test the current sensing but I will most likely replace it any way as I am already going to work on the other 2. The only problem I can see is being limited by the selector switches available. 1 5position switch for Mode slection and 1 5position switch for resistance range and AC or DC amp range (I cant tell as of yet)

I'm not sure about older resistors, but could those plastic cased resistors change resistance over time? You could always try measuring their current resistance and comparing to the *actual* code on the case.

I did just that and most of them have drifted more then 20% from the printed value.
