Here is a couple of shots of my QB5/2000 tube, got the filament transformer yesterday so it was about time to test the transformer and tube. I got the socket from the "local" hongkong ebay seller :D
Transformer is rated 7.5V / 32A, its from an old Phillips stove.
QB5/2000 specifications (datasheet max values)
filament 7.5V / 22.6A frequency 30MHz Anode voltage 5.5kV Anode dissipation 800W Anode input power 3.5kW Anode current 700mA Grid 2 voltage 800V Grid 2 dissipation 120W Grid 1 voltage -500V Grid 1 current 35mA
Planning to run it using 2 mots with levelshifter, controlled by a variac, and thats about the plans so far. I will need to plan a heavy frame for this build, all that transformer iron weighs down real good :D

WoW! That is a valve to do big arcs. and burn some filament transformers. 22A o.O
