I have a EVR staccato board. How could I test it to make sure it is working without an oscope? When I power it up the power led comes on but thats it, should the other led blink with the output?

I'm having no luck building my own staccato board. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. I've built 2 boards but I can't get either to work. does anyone have a populated working staccato board they want to sell? Is anyone interested in building a board for me? Thanks in advance.

Special thanks to Dr. Spark for repairing my staccato board. shades
I just have a quick question. Can I use a 25.2vct transformer to power the board or is that pushing it. The 7812 regulator datasheet says it recommends a 19v input. sad If 25.2vct is not enough and I doubt it is can I use a regular non center tapped transformer? confused If so what would be a good recommended voltage? Or a combination of 2 transformers? I would just order a 28vct but atm I'm really strapped for cash. Btw my staccato board is the EVR type.
Thanks in advance,
Garry Neeley

Today I am troubleshooting my staccato card. All my signals look good except on the output of the card I can only vary pulse width with the onboard pot. I can't vary bps with the extended pot. When i turn the extended pot the led does vary from slow to faster but the output signal stays the same. Anybody know what could be goiong on?

What was the reason that your staccato controller was not working originally? I am having the same problem. Power LED comes on but no pulse. I tried scoping it and got nothing... scratching my head here...

Not sure, but due to popular demand, i re-released this board. There are some instructions including theory and it also shows the waveforms you should be getting from the various chips. Instructions can be downloaded from the page here:

The PDF is not complete yet - just a preliminary version, so it doesn't show test and operation information.

Also, you're more than welcome to send me the Stacatto board back to me and i'll debug and troubleshoot it for you. No charge. Just pay the shipping charge.

Oh, Sorry, I should have been more specific. It is not one of your boards. Just seems to be the same problem. Or similar. It is a similar design though. I was hoping for some quick ideas of where to look for issues. It was worth a try...
