THe 4HV chatroom has for years been legendary for its lack of any redeeming qualities. Today was even worse than normal, this is what I got when I logged on...

Yikes, thats about as bad as it gets... cry

Maybe we need to add some kind of basic test you need to pass before you need to pass before you can "get on irc, fgt". This might eliminate some of the problems with epic noobery and overall dumbness.

Please don't axe HV IRC though, I'm sure that despite its flaws we would all miss it (I guess?).

The problem seems to be with sourceforge.net causing the chat client to load a default chatroom with even lower standards than normal.

Yes, I'm looking into it now. In the meantime, if anyone would like to join the chatroom without an IRC client, Link2 is a viable alternative.

Skunkworks, they aren't discussing the quality of the room inhabitants. They're discussing the level of suck suffered by the chat *client*.

#HVcomm isn't going anywhere any time soon.

No, this is just a case of the client dropping people into the wrong chatroom on connecting. Sourceforge changed some stuff around. #HVcomm is *never* that empty.

JchatIRC is a wart on the backside of a wart on the backside of a warthog. If you need an in-browser chat client, I suggest Shadowworld's own:
