Here's a list of useful sites I found detailing safety procedures involved in chemistry, as well as "things not to do" lists.



Also, the major one is WEAR SAFETY GOGGLES AT ALL TIMES!! I cannot state this enough, as even the most innocuous activities such as using epoxy or cyanoacrylate can result in a serious eye injury in the event of splashes if a part being held down comes adrift after gluing, as well as fume risks if the parts are then soldered.
Might also be a good idea to wash your hands before removing goggles, as I've had at least once incident where some etchant got onto my hand due to dropping the PCB in the container, and could have got in my eyes when removing the goggles...
Solder blobs are the worst, had that before (Ouch!) but it can do a lot of damage so be careful especially if connecting transitor leads or anything springy.
