Yep. toilet drain plug shades Simple and effective. Actually the box is just a aluminum project box from radioshack. I am working on the interrupter so it will probably be done by tonight.

I finally got all the bumps out of the interrupter and finished that up. I just finished making the primary so here are some pics. tell me what you think.

Hi teslacoolguy,

It's coming together real nicely!

I see that you are using Steve Wards latest DRSSTC circuit,
do you plan to use his mod's too that he used to help
make primary strikes ok?
i think he placed a ferrite bead on his GDT primary input lead
and a cap from his bus supply to ground.

thanks. I am using Steve Wards latest driver circuit. I am going to do the mod to make primary strikes ok but i added a strike rail just for that extra protection shades. Just as a update, Mouser shipped the caps yesterday so i should have them by mid next week.

bump... Now that i am back in ohio for a little while, i now have tome to work on the drsstc. I finished up the mmc and im going to work on the base right now. I will post some pics tonight.

double post.. sorry but i have a big update. The mmc is finished and everything is in it's position less the H bridge. The igbt's still havent come yet so that is really the only thing holding me back on that. Here are some pics.

I would say to watch out when building a MMC on a breadbord like that, HV plus small hole spacing = arc over..... just something to think about
