Ok so I've decided to make a mini SSTC and learn along the way, based on Steve Wards Mini SSTC. I've finished winding the secondary and giving it some extra coats of varnish to boot and now I'm wondering what else needs to be done (in what order for that matter).
First off: do I need to do anything else to my secondary before I unmount it from my coilwinding jig? It was darned hard to get the thing centered and I'm wondering if any last steps are required before I remove it and mount the top piece of acrylic?
Pics of the coil winding: Completed secondary: (Yes I know it looks like there are gaps in the secondary, but its something funny with the lighting)
Second: next step is to build the board for the circuitry, any special considerations I should keep in mind to minimize interference? Should I maximize my ground plane area on the upper portion of the board (ie: mask the entire board and clear the area around the holes?)
