Why does it seem like right after I settle for something on ebay, everything I originally wanted at the price I wanted it shows up....

Same reason as why you suddenly need to ship a parcel the day after throwing out all your old cardboard boxes and bubble wrap.

Or you lose something and you either go buy it again and it appears, or shows up in the very last place you look.

its called the Null time disruptive Zone Paradox ( I just felt like making up something)

Or when you are all the way at the bottom of your lawn and you have about 1 pass to go with your tractor and you run out of gas.

Or how about this: You sell unrefined uranium ore as well as high power laser diodes (along with MANY others) on ebay. Rival sellers and "do gooders" report your listings as hazardous. JUST you get all your stuff cancelled and then JUST you get banned from ebay! Upon reading the rules, you find your stuff DOES meet ebay's policy. Despite pointing that out to their "trust and safety" team, you are STILL banned. Whew!!!!!!

Things that fall in the same category include when you buy something only to realise it's being sold with 50% discount the next week, or when you need something you just threw out because you never used it and it has just been taking place.

That's WHY there are a LOT of people who would buy elsewhere.
The issue is that "BIG is TRUST WORTHY" So people who REALLY don't like Ebay keep coming back. To start an alternative, you have to bear that in mind. But many people have had frustrating experiences on Ebay. It's similar to a "Big BOX- store"...... Home Depot is not the Alpha & Omega of hardware, it's just BIG and gives the impression of being trustworthy. How many people have had frustrating & negative experiences at large retail outlets?

There are a few places with "for sale" sections like 4HV.... I have bought stuff from here and gotten VERY ethical treatment! If you look at the "for sale" section however it's more "wanted" than "have"....

What about when you want something on ebay, following which someone scoops the thing for an absurd amount that you weren't willing to pay -.-

That, or sellers avoiding hard questions...
