I know that i should know this but anyway on my big coil should i connect the mmc in series with the primary and the rsg parallel to the primary or vice versa? Also will rf chokes wound with 28g magnet wire stand up to a 4.8kw mot bank?

I think you want the RSG connected so that it doesn't short the transformer when it arcs. The power would be connected to the cap and the cap would go to the RSG and the primary. I think you would need thinker wire than 28awg for a choke connected to a MOT bank...
EDIT: I thought that connecting the gap across the transformer would make it harder to quench the arc. Eh, I've only built a VTTC, no spark gap coils so I don't know.

The MMC and the RSG will always be in series with the primary. Always. Remove the transformer from the picture and see what I mean You haven't got a Tesla coil otherwise!
The modern answer to your question--which I expect is actually whether the gap or the cap should be across the transformer--is to put the gap across the transformer. Especially in static gap coils, this offers a measure of protection against overvoltages and also greatly reduces the RF seen by the transformer according to Terry Fritz's filter experiments. With an RSG, the former advantage doesn't exist because of the increased risk of gap misfire, so a safety gap is an absolute must!
Regarding RF chokes: This has been talked about a lot. Don't use chokes. They won't help you much. TCBOR and a few others back in the late 80's and early-to-mid 90's suggested using RF chokes but didn't conduct any real science. Assuming you're not using NSTs, a safety gap is probably all you'll need, however if you're paranoid like me then you'll create a sort of monster Terry Filter using 250W resistors and a couple of doorknob caps (I don't bother with the MOVs).

Ok now i know how to connect the tc, I just wanted to tell you how i am going to set the safety gap properly. My mot bank supplys approximately 8kv so i will connect a 9kv nst to the gap and adjust the electrodes until it stops arcing across to ground. Tell me what you think.
