Doubler for Tesla Coil???

Those resistors in there, R, may be just 100ohm 50W?

Yeah, I think that might be fine because most of the power from the MOTs would be dissipated elsewhere in the TC. maybe?

When I was talking to tesla brasil I say it might work, but I dont know if 100 Ohms resistor arent too low for that application, most cases use a few K resistors. The big problem is to know if it will not discharge the arcs fast (making a good and smooth arc on the output), with a NST as a Charge Choke is working fine here for me, but he is winding the choke and if doesnt work, it will get some 100 Ohm 100W resistors.

Acording ohm law:

In that schematic it will drop the voltage to 194V on the out when short out with the two resistors. The two resistors have an series resistence of 200 Ohms, so it will dissipate 188W of heat, with 100W each resistor will get 94W.

But that is with the power supply shorted, I dont know if its the correct way to calc it. Correct if I am wrong.

Hey Cain, you are using the circuit of Greg?

Resistors is 100ohm 100W?
After the resistors you use two common filters, or is a choke??

I have used that same doubler circuit with two 1000W mots. I used a complete "Terry filter" Link2 instead of the 100ohm 50W resistors.
