Well, I'm a little bit of everything. Any genre I can find something I like, but here are my faves.
I like most country artists including Sara Evans, Jennifer Nettles, Clint Black, Martina McBride, etc. My all time favorite songwriter/guitarplayer/hero is Brad Paisley. Closely followed by Keith Urban.
Then going into inspirational stuff, I like: Steven Curtis Chapman, Chris Rice, Sara Groves(she has the most angelic voice you'll ever hear)
Pop: Kelly Clarkson and John Mayer, maybe a little Green Day or something like that.
Oldies: Aretha Franklin, Temptations, Supremes, Creedence Clearwater, Otis Redding, Louis Armstrong, The Beatles...
Classical: Anything by John Williams(He did the Star Wars theme and Home Alone)

I used to listen to a lot of NIN because I listen to what I play (guitarist)
But since then I have grown so much! I looked for and found the blues!
Pink Floyd Eric Clapton B.B. King Buddy Guy Dire Straits Led Zepplin Bob Seger (with a little help from my friends) Deep Purple! (dig that killer old school heavy metal)
All the greats and more! My heart goes out to these guys and countless more because, as a growing Lead guitarist, music has really changed my life.

As a pianist, i enjoy all types of classical music.
However, i was recently introduced to music by 20th century British composer Ralph Vaughn Williams which has composed some really awesome stuff. If you get a chance, check out his one piece titled, "The Lark Ascending." Awesome piece!
Another composer in a similar class is the American composer Howard Hanson which has done some exquisite stuff as well. His 2nd Sympony, the Romantic is beautiful. In fact, the first time I heard this one at the end of the original 1979 Alien movie and it still sends shivers up my spine when i hear it.
And finally, one of my favorite all time composers is the famous Bernard Hermann who has composed music for many movies including Psycho, Taxi Driver, etc...
But the one piece, which is quite obscure, that he wrote was Concerto Macabe which was written around 1945 i think for the movie, Hangover Square. Awesome piece for piano and orchestra.

Anything and Everything.
I listen to alittle of every genre. I'm particularly fond of classic rock like ZZ Top, Bob Seger, The Doors, Tom Petty, and The Eagles.
I also enjoy alot of country (particularly Brad Paisley and Garth Brooks). I listen to some new rock, Evanescence, Green Day and System of a Down in particular, and even classical when the mood strikes me.
I'm not very familiar with classical composers and such, but I like alot of Paganini's work. I like dark, kind of ominous pieces, and I like strings and piano for the most part. I'm not a big fan of pieces that employ alot of brass.
Dvorak's 9th Symphony, Barber's Adagio for Strings, and some of the BlackHawk Down soundtrack are kind of in the ballpark of the style I like. I wish I could find more of that sort. I'm open to suggestions.

I will listen to most types of rock... I started out liking the late 60's/early 70's stuff, because that was what my dad was into (being a teenager in the late 60's) like Ledd Zeppelin Van Halen, Jimmy Hendrix (I am listening to 'Are You Experienced' atm), etc Then I started the 80's bands like Bowling for Soup, Aerosmith, Hootie and the Blowfish, America, the 80s songs written by the Rolling stones, Eagles, etc.. And now I am back in the times listening to Korn, Coldplay, All American Rejects, a lot of the bands that KROQ plays...
