I am planning to make a small 1Mhz solid state tesla coil that could be powered by batteries. So far I can not figure out on how many windings the tesla coil should have on its primary and secondary. Is there a site or a formula that could help me determine the number of windings?

Use this find your secondary height: Link2

and then calculate the rest in JAVATC: Link2

And for my 1Mhz tesla coil I want the secondary resonant frequency to be 1 Mhz?

Obviously yes.
What kind of batteries are you planning to use? I did a lot of experimenting with different kinds of batteries. Lead batteries are the best choice (and preferably SLA ones). Be sure to have at least 4-5Ah ones, otherwise you'll find yourself charging the batteries very often.

I plan on using a car batteries my plan for the tesla coil is a 2 Mhz crystal oscillator divided by a type D flip flop. Then the output would go into a IXDD414PI mosfet gate driver. I am still looking for a proper mosfet. my coil is going to be about 100 watts. This is based off of various projects and using some of the best features of the projects. If some one has any comments they are welcomed as this is my first tesla coil.

You might be able to find the mosfets you need cheap at this ebay shop: Link2

I am ordering from digikey so i just need a part number for a good mosfet. What is a GDT used for and why might need one if I already have a driver chip for my mosfet. ( and yes i read the wiki about GDT)

Its written in first 3 lines of the wiki article, without the GDT to match things up it wouldn't work and you would risc a blown mosfet/igbt to take your drive circuit with it.

If I understood correctly, you only were speaking about one mosfet. So as you are planning to use quite low voltages and power levels, I'd recommend to use Class E switching. The advantages are you don't need a GDT and you need only one MOSFET. Some people have made Class E coils and they have worked very well. For example, look at Steve Ward's page and Uzzors' page. For a MOSFET, try to choose one with a low Rds(on) and voltage at least four times your primary voltage. And watch for the power rating, too!

so the tank cap and the primary have a resonant frequency of 1Mhz (the same as my secondary)?
