FYI, the one on the picture is not that big at all and it outputs at least 500W continus without overheating and over 700W peak
I am leaning towards making one myself but still need a reliable source for cores and preferably bobbins/enclosures as well.
Is any cheap plastic I can machine a bobbin from?

Due to the rise of lcd and plasme TV and the demise of crt tv,
suppliers of crt technology TV spares here in UK are selling off stock of LOPT and HOT.

(for uk members have a look at CPC bargain corner ,
I recently bought 10 HR6549 flybacks at 20p ea. and 13 2sc4542 at 25p ea.)

So have a look around for TV LOPT and use as many as required to get your required power/current.
