Hi There,
I have been running a number of simulations on LTspice and have settled on a full bridge topology with a 4046 to run a secondary air wound coil in resonance that attaches to a cockcroft walton multiplier. Ok the simulation works and thats fine. In the simulation I have used the IXYS driver IXDN430CI which can deliver 30A peak and they are feeding into a gate drive transformer. I am using four IGBTs, irgp50b60pd, which handle 75Amp contunuous current and 150Amp pulsed. Thats all good as the total system sits at around 2400VA so I have no problems with over pushing these IGBTS.
My questions are:
Given that my simulation is using the above driver (I happened to find a model for this driver and it works in the sim),
1) Whats a true suitable driver (peak power rating and why) and
2) Whats the best way to power them? Whats the best power supply setup to run these IGBTs given that with this setup there is no interupter as per a DRSSTC and that will be a continuous chopped signal to the IGBTs.
Some guidance in this would be gratefully appreciated.

1) The IXDD414 is great for high frequency CW drive. The TO-220 package can dissipate lots of heat. If the frequency were below 100kHz you might be able to get away with the ever popular UCC37321.
The IXDN430 would have been great too, but just try finding a distributor who stocks them.
2) A transformer, rectifier, smoothing cap and regulator like a LM317.
