This morning at work someone started yelling about our transformer going crazy. So I went outside to look and there was a polepig, arcing and sparking, getting ready to blow up and what not.
Called the fire department, and while we were calling the pig gave one last GIANT arc, at least 2ft in diameter and popped. I have a picture of the pig while it was sparking on my celly. I'll post it when I done today.
Definitely a fun way to start your week.
I was looking at tesla coils when this happened as well.

Yeah, there are many interesting/crazy vids of high voltage equipment arcing and sparking on youtube.
There is also a video of some insane russian guys shorting out powerlines. A few times in the video, a phase-to-phase arc occurs but it does not cut the power, the arc continues to burn and rise upwards! (you know the 500kV switch arc...). I will not post it here, if someone wants PM me and I'll send you the link.
