Hi all, I am buying the parts for my first DRSSTC and I found a cap for sell here.

Its a Epcos B32686S7334-504
Its 1250VDC 330nF
Ims at 100Khz is 10A
ESR at 100Khz is 5 mOhms

Here its costs R$20 ( US$12,5), its not cheap but its the best cap that I can found.
Its a good cap for a DRSSTC Primary Bank?
I will need 100nF to ressoate with my primary, so I need three of it in series.
Thanks!

What is the expected power level of the system? One string of capacitors may not handle the RMS current too well, and it could overheat. Those capacitors seem extremely over-priced for their specifications, and would only cost a few dollars each in the US.

I think the caps here are too expensive.

I plan to make a 600 or 1000W DRSSTC, but I will use the IRG4PC50 IGBT's (are not too expensive here, its R$30 or US$18,75, the taxes at import are too high to get it with lower prices), and I will make a fullbridge. I dont know what cap to use it, I think we have much caps that I can use, but I dont know any model ( I will try to se the prices of the 4hv Wiki caps here)

I think its better to say how much long sparks I want, I was made a SSTC with 20cm sparks, some 1m sparks in a DRSSTC its good, I dont know how much power a DRSSTC need to do that.

Here I have some bunch of Siemens 400V 1uF MKT-10 Caps, Metalized Polyester Film. If I get many of these in series and parallel I can use it?

Polyester is no good for pulse applications.

And what "no good" means?

Polyester meaning high losses = no good.
Capacitor gets hot and "boom."

But If I use some Polypropilene Film Foil but small ones, like some common that I have here (1600V 10nF, with 10 in parallel I get my 100nF and It will cost one R$8 or US$5)

You'll need to series them as well to get more voltage handling.

How much voltage gets it across the MMC with a 300VDC Input at igbt?
