Hi all, after I made a SGTC, a SSTC, and some other works with HV, I am planning to make a DRSSTC.
First I know I need a scope, I will buy a 20Mhz one until I start to work on drsstc. But before of that I want to know somethings:
I plan to use some Steve Ward DRSSTC schematics, but he uses some CDE Caps, can I use other type of caps? Like some common Polypropilene Film?
I winded a secondary coil for it with low fres (180Khz ~ without topload, 4'' Tube with 64,5 cm of 30AWG Wire, 2420 Turns), I think because it have a low fres, I can use cheaper IGBT's, so what IGBT I should use? (Here on Brazil the Mini Brick and Bricks ones are too much expensive, with 4 of then I can buy a computer :P)
I planning to start with low power (Even with a big secondary coil), I think 1kW or so it will be ok. I trying to find some 10A+ IGBT's for 200Khz, someone knows a good igbt to start it?
