What frequency does a camera circuit operate at?

I am trying to make my own camera circuit by reusing the transformer, I will then use a transistor and a 555 timer. My main question is at what frequency should I make the 555 timer oscillate?

Also, I built a simple 555 driver using a capacitor and 2 resisters in an astable configuration. Now for some odd reason when ever I increase the voltage it starts to oscillate the led faster. Is this a normal function of the 555 or is my circuit messed up? I think it has something to do with the capacitor taking longer to discharge at the higher voltage but I am not sure.

it is a feedback circuit, frequency changes as the capacitor charges.
Since you can hear it, id suggest testing between 10Khz and 20Khz

With no load mine is 14kHz (1 AA only). Although, if you want to run a bit more voltage you could probably use around 20-30kHz.
