Well, I got some 15KV Brushing from a nearby powerplant after their clean-up but I found no use for it.

It's not particularly in good condition but I did check it to see if it is capable of withstanding 15kv and it did well.
I can ship anywhere in the world from Canada (Calgary)

If you want, PM me and tell me a price that you want to buy it for.

Here's some pictures of it

Those are not bushings, nor even insulators. Those are surge arresters. You would not want to substitute those for post insulators, as once you exceed the MCOV rating by some small margin, they'll go into conduction and be very much unlike insulators wink Do they have a rating written on them anywhere? I would expect so, but it may be obscured by oxidation and stuff.

Cheers,
Aaron, N7OE

Well, besides just being cool (Hey! It's power distribution hardware!! Wheeee!!! cheesey), they can be used like safety gaps. See my comments about halfway down this thread: Link2

...but I'm not a huge fan of the safety gap idea neutral

It's funny, I actually had a similar experience with the power company I got mine from (not the ones I'm selling, but some much bigger ones); I asked for post insulators, and was directed to a bin full of arresters. I pulled one out, saw the nameplate, and then decided to buy a few anyway wink I figure I'll come up with a "good" use for them at some point. I just haven't figured out what that is yet. I have a HUGE collection of the 3kV ones, however, so I decided to lose some of those.

Cheers,
Aaron, N7OE

Thanks for the reply.

Instead of taking me to the bin, they were like "Here's this trash on the ground, take it"

Hmm well I guess that I could use it as dead weight until I find a use for it. I am however happy that they gave me anything at all :)
