no, thats the point of this, to find the cap i need to get, i measured 30.1uH with the whole setup inside it (secondary and topload etc).
Measuring the true resonant frequency is more useful than knowing the inductance.
ive already got that, i measured the frequency that gave the highest output from the secondary (from a wire nearby), it was 262.5Khz
Anyway, I'd try again with a few different frequencies, preferably over a bigger range than 80-90KHz
my sine wave generator only goes up to 100Khz
Other things to worry about are distortion (does the 'scope trace look like a decent sine wave?) and loading; is the signal generator struggling to feed the load or is the scope loading it down? With a measured impedance of just 28 ohms I think the former is more likely to be a problem than the latter.
true, i can not drive it at full amplitude or the wave is clipped and distorted, I turn the amplitude way down and it looks a pretty good sine to me.

yes and no, you could measure the resonant rise with a known capacitor, that is if the meter works at all at such an insane frequency. i prefer to scope it. I have yet to try this method although it would rely on complete faith of the printed capacitor value
