I was just wondering how many of the 4HV members have motorbikes? What type of bikes have you got and how often do you ride them?

I've got a Yamaha DT125X:

It's a fun bike although it's restricted at the moment. I'm planning to deristrict it quite soon. I commute around 25 miles a day to and from work.

I have a Honda CG125, although it has been off the road for a few years now.

I want to get back on it though, or pick up a trail bike. I love mountain biking too, and really miss having an engine!

My dad has a little Yahama Enduro 125 but since no one in my family has a motorcycle license it is strictly an off road vehicle.
We take it out to the desert twice yearly, where it is driven mostly by my dad (I drive the 1979 CJ7 or the corvair converted into a sand rail)

haha fun. My parents won't let me get anything like that, but my friend has a 1972 Yamaha dirtbike he found rusting in the woods. Somehow he managed to get it running and we ride it every once in a while. It's a lot of fun as long as you don't think about the fact that the bike is held together with tape and rust.

Yeah, motorbikes are a lot of fun. My dad runs a motorcycle repair shop next to our house (it started out in the garage), so I have been around them for quite some time. I havn't had my own bike until recently though. It's a Yamaha TW-200, an enduro with a bigass rear tire. Right now it needs a battery, a shock tower dust boot, and a air box<->carb hose. Nothing major, but it keeps me from riding it.

There is a network of trails out behind my house, most of them owned by neighbor, whom I have asked for permission to ride on said trails. The bike has plenty of power to get up the steep spots, and due to the larger replacement rear sproket, it goes hella fast too. I have yet to take it out on the road, but I have gotten up to 55 in the woods. That's scary, and I don't think I'll be pushing it much past that.

Here's a link to a pic of my bike:

I like to experiment with electronics on it.
I built a voltage regulator for it and a solid state ignition module
triggered from the points.
I sell the ignition modules over the internet
to other owners of antique bikes.
I want to start building voltage regs and selling them, too.
