Hi all.
Just checked the news, and it looks like the Ghoul was looking the other way, as Phoenix is on the North Pole of Mars and working just fine.

That sort of landscape is not uncommon on earth in the arctic: What happens is that water collects in the low parts and expands when it freezes. The repeated pressure to each side gradually builds up bumps that take the shape of different polygons. The scale and shapes depends on the conditions and properties of the ground. So by measuring the size and shape it is possible to extract some information about the conditions that were in place when this happened.
