hi, I've tried with 33 turns and 33 ohms resistor on secondary ,the ferrite core is small so I can't use more than 40 turns on it and first reason because I don't like to wound cores :) , and one as a primary.

I used 0.1 uF so relation is 146( tank is 14.6uF) . the peak voltage was 3V on oscilloscope and sec current would be 3V / 33 Ohm = 0.091 A. primary current would be 0.091A X 33 turns = 3A and finally tank caps current would be 146 X 3 = 438A ??? may be like 20% less it would be 350A, too much current!!! tank peak voltage was 160V but power may be low because a low power factor of the load

Hi
I have to made some good IH, for friend
I have APT150GT120JR IGBT, they are fast, but don't have body diode. For MMC i think use 100 wima FKP1 capacitors, (600V 47nF) so total will be 4,7uF.
with that capacity, and normal size work coil have to be 60-70KHz resonant frequency.
But what driver should i use ? maybe PLL ? also need startup frequency, so in my opinion PLL have to best solution. Can some one give link for tested circuits ??

Hello all,
Linas this is the circuit of my IH , the PLL controller is based on excellent Uzzors circuit with some changes, it works perfect and it runs locked close to resonant freq.

this is my setup ,the coil and capacitors are located away from the inverter, recently I built a water cooled matching inductor with variable gap adjust with stepper motor to open or close the core. I also find large rating mosfets
IRFPS43N50. It runs with 11A from the mains.
I use a pic 16f873 to monitor and control the inverter alarms and water temperature of the capacitors and workcoil
