finally i managed to take photos and post them here, so :

Sparks

sparks are not so blue, my camera is messy to setup focus on them...
(images are more bigger than this... see originals

i created spark gap from 2 metal .... erm. barrels. They are set up for distance 5 mm, but they worked only once...
Link2
Link2

yes... a breakdown or what is it called... is glue conductive? because as i know, i let it dried for about day, so glue should be dry, but was not... it was only to prevent to get o3 out... (damn it i glued it and waited all day...) , now i have there only 2 cables "in air" co it is really disgusting smell from it... can a SG be isolated and working properly?

I forgot to mention the most important thing!!! - sparks are 1.5 cm long, but i can do more with better SG... for now it is only setup for 3-4 mm long, but capacitors can survive 6 (and HV trafo can get 10kV) ...

can i get longer sparks if took some turns from primary? (but change of resonant frequency)

Seriously, did you tune your coil at all? Even with that low performance single transistor flyback driver you should be able to get a lot more. I think I got better performance with my disposable camera SGTC... So tune it! Link2

Do you have a resonant cap across the flyback driver transistor? It should help with the performance too. Also be sure that your flyback is the rectified type, otherwise you'll have to put an external rectifier diode.

(Oh, and maybe you would want to scale the pics down a bit)

oh my god confused

1. no, i did not do with that
2. between what and what (how) capacitor should i use "across"???
3. how can i know if it is rectified or not? i think that all HV transformers got diode in themselves...
4. what is that page for? i dont get if...

blame me, for now i am looser to that :(

The fly-back is rectified - according to what I can see on the pictures...BTW: those ceramic caps you used are not the best choice and most likely are dead already. I think the whole design is kinda strange rolleyes You should probably read more about the fly-back driven SGTC and give another try with more appropriate design. I mean with more powerfull fly-back driver, better caps, better spark gap and properly tuned coil.

those caps are best i have...

and i had SG, but it was bad... if i invite something new from what i dont have here... i do.
and why i need more powerful flyback? i dont need to use 20kV when i have only 6kV caps...

Don't worry! smile Everyone is a noob once, but trust me, you will be able to learn everything you want. Your coil looks great btw, just tune it up and you will get a nice display piece wink

Some answers to your questions:
1. Tuning is mandatory to get a SGTC working.
2. Link2 Look at the .47u cap across the transistor.
3. As Mates already said, your flyback looks rectified.
4. You can enter your coil parameters to JavaTC and it can tune the coil for you... Well, almost. Of course you have to do some manual tuning by yourself but you'll get the idea about how much turns should the primary have.

Good luck! smile

Yeah, and If you got one IRFP250 and a 555 you can get a better result from flyback getting a better result on SGTC too.

ok, so from begginning...
first upgrade done successfully - i added rubber pads at bottom of case, so now it is holding on desk like ass on toilet cheesey

now serious...
how should do spark gap? there are not so small Cu tubes (diameter 10-15 mm)... am i still in europe for *****???
so i was thinking about adding this (sorry for crappy image, i dont have pain to sketch it in photoshop...)

Sg

that disk is made from some steel, and idea is get plexi, disc, plexi and through disc center will be some screw ... will it work ? :)

second- i dunno what capacitors i should use, nothing is here and nothing is the same i can obtain... so the mmc is only thing - from what? all i can get is from Link2 they have tantalum, foil and ceramic caps. And second thing for safety - what resistors (ohmic value) i should use across caps?

edit/ could i use:
those -> Link2 ???? or some similar value?

for now that is all... if somebody reply - THANKS - and i will buy it and try next day (so please reply quickly as you can :) )

sorry for some bad english...

Get the cap with High voltage has you can, and dont get one. The Flyback can output 10-25kV so if you get that 2kV cap, you need 13 of it in series to get a good cap for your flyback.

You can make too your own cap, like a leyden jar or make like him:
Link2

About the resistors, get a Megaohm one, like 10M or more.

but will i need 25kV cap when spark gap will be adjusted for only 5kV???

btw. i managed to order 10x 1000pF 2kV foil... for some about 4€ (4$)...
