Hi all.
From a dead flat panel TV I acquired sixteen 30" long (about a metre+) fluorescent tubes. These have end caps and are a lot neater and smaller than conventional fluorescent tubes.
Does anyone have a use for these? It seems such a shame to dump them, the TV I removed them from is a lost cause though its panel lives on :) 32" monitor = pwnage.
My cunning plan is to fit them onto a sheet of plastic and make a fluorescent VU meter like the one on Hackaday.
Also might be possible to use them in conjunction with a small Tesla coil for a random flashing / flickering display...
