I've lately been blessed with another child (up to two now), which has led me to realize that my collection of great HV stuff vastly exceeds my ability to build HV projects. Hence, I'll be periodically handing out smaller pieces here out of hope that others can make them do great things.

First item on the chopping block: An Eimac 3-1000Z tube with original (albeit somewhat beat up) box.

I got this tube about a year and a half ago from a local ham, who in turn had recently picked it up from an estate sale. He believed it had never been used. I'm not as optimistic. There are screw marks on the anode terminal consistent with the set screw on a plate cap, and light scratches on the pins consistent with having been in a socket. Nonetheless, the tube does look to be in very good condition. There is positively no soot inside, and no discoloration of *anything*. Filament continuity checks out, and that's all the testing I've done. Unfortunately, I cannot offer a socket, plate cap, chimney, plate transformer, or anything else for this tube, as I have none of these things. Sorry!

I expect this tube would make for a great tube coil, or you could use it for its boring intended purpose in a ham amplifier wink

Asking price $0 + s/h. Yes, FREE, plus actual shipping charges. I'm limiting this offer to U.S. members who've been on 4hv.org for at least six months. Please no posts or PMs asking me to change this. I'd really like it if a veteran VTTC'er jumped in and adopted it and made it do great things. First person meeting these criteria to reply saying they want it will get it. I expect shipping will be ~$20 or less. I will have the tube double-boxed at the UPS Store or similar. I am not picky about payment method; personal check is fine.

Cheers,
Aaron, N7OE

I would gladly take it smile I have been meaning to rebuild my 811a coil for a while now... Link2

But I will warn you, at the moment full power is being diverted to rev4 of the gps tracker, so you might not get to see sparks for a few months...

cheers

Ok, ... . It's all yours. I'll PM you to arrange for shipping.

No problem on the "few months", hehehh...for me, it would have been *years*.

Cheers,
