How should i make this? I have 4 inch piece of wire for the antenna and about 6-7 turns around it that is hugging the wire. Will this be sufficient?

I am a little unclear as to exactly what you are trying to do, but normally you want you antenna to be the same height as the secondary. What wire is is wrapped arround?

However, I would very highly recommend using a current transformer instead of an antenna, because they are much more compact and usually more reliable.

Sorry but i have to disagree here. In my experience the antenna catches reliable feedback with just very few volts on the bridge! And the feedback seems to be more stable, with CT the arcs sometimes sound funny as you move objects around the coil, and CT usually cannot stand ground arcs and it blows the bridge.

You can't have a class-e topology with feedback unless your range of frequency is extremely minimal. Proper class-e topology requires a precise frequency for operation and it must be tuned that frequency.

If someone has a feedback driven class-e circuit, then its really not class-e or not working properly as a class-e.

Then what do you suggest i use? If not feedback the what? Like a tl494 or 555 or uc3842(im not too familiar with that one so i dont know about that one.).

you need to tune your resonator to the exact output frequency.
if you want a true class-e design, then you want to look at Richie Burnett's class-e schematic.

other designs i've seen which claim to be class-e, really aren't. not to say they all aren't, but the ones i've
seen aren't class-e.

Steve's circuit is only designed for the one resonator frequency. Thats what i'm getting at. You can't take the driver from the one
coil and simply connect it to another thinking the antenna is simply going to make the thing work at a different frequency. He designs the entire output
stage to match the frequency of the resonator, but just uses the antenna to drive that.

So, yes, his is a Class-E. But it is fixed frequency meaning if it was designed for say 4.54MHz, its not going to run properly at 4.6MHz.
