Hey Folks,
More or less this is a question, I realize that in most cases for a SSTC we use UCC37322/21 and they work extremely well, but last time I ordered Different drivers I ordered UCC27423's... Heres the Datasheet , I realize the pin out is different, Digikey keeps rejecting my Debit card so I'm just seeing if you guys think this chip would work to replace the Ucc37321 , so long as I change the pins connections on the board.

i believe my mosfet GDT driver is better than any UCC, my sstc GDT use just 5 turns, and works without heating, but wave form aren't good, (maybe big mosfet capacity, one mosfet is 6nF ;( ) 74HC14_UCC3732X_mosfet_GDT
I don't fully agree with Linas. The descrete driver might be good for high currents and driving big loads (at relatively low frequency), but it suffers from added delay and shotrough at high frequences.

IMO the best driver on the market is the IXDD430, with the IXDD414 a close 2nd. I use this in just about everything I build. They are avalible in a TO220 package which makes them perfect for high load aplications (BIG FETs/IGBTs). I use the IXDD430s to drive CM600's at 200khz with ease.

TC4421 and TC4422 are good for most applications where MOSFETs/IGBTs are being driven through GDTs. In this case peak current is normally limited to less than the driver's maximum by leakage inductance and damping resistance anyway.
