Well, thanks to conundrum, I've obtained several DVD Burner diodes. One was tested to destruction to check out current ratings, and one was working reliably, however, in some tragic mishap, my friend burnt it out. It still emits coherent light that can be focused easily several meters away, but the intensity of the light is very very dim, I am thinking COD has occurred. Anyways, I'm looking for another DVD-burner laser, preferably from a 16X drive in the 5.6mm case size (normal size for DVD devices). I have the case and lens and everything all set, I just need a new diode to make the case happy cheesey . Let me know if you have one! I'm also keeping an eye out on Ebay as well.

How about these? Link2 I've been thinking of getting some myself. You can even buy a collimator with it if you want to.

I have the collimating lens, and I just need the diode out of it. However, I can buy a brand new 20X DVD burner for 24 bucks from new egg- and free shipping smile We'll see, if no one has any bare diodes, i may just end up doing that.

EDY19, i have a fair few 16X burner diodes for about $25US + postage, these are the BARE diodes straight from sony, so they have no solder on them what so ever. If you want it pre-mounted in a module i also have them for $30US + postage. PM me if you want some. If you dont trust me, check out laserpointerforums.com under the username "Things".
