Hey all. im new here, so i was hoping you guys could help me build a "pulser". i want it to look something like this: (the green cubes are there to illustrate that it's 2 seperate circuits)
i need a circuit to pulse a relay or a transistor or someting to allow current to flow though at a variable rate.
the pulser and the pulsed circuit should be isolated from each other since i don't wanna fry more electronics.
i have basic to slightly advanced electronics knowledge, but i have no idea how to do this. i did something like this once: and it worked great for about 30 minutes, then i had to change the 555.

The forum is full of circuits for driving ignition coils and flyback transformers to generate high voltages.
The circuit you display has nothing to protect the 555 timer from transient voltage spikes inevitably generated on the supply line by the fast switching of currents in the ignition coil, and perhaps failed for that reason.
High voltage spikes are the great killer of driver circuits in high voltage experiments. Success or failure in a design will often depend on our ability to anticipate them at such and such a point in a circuit, and take effective measures to limit their size, or divert them harmlessly away.

this circuit is not "only" for driving ignition coils. i think i explained it poorly, i don't want to use the exact same circuit, i just want the same effect. something like this:

Well, old fellow, the sort of circuit you would need to pulse some LEDs would be a very different thing to one for driving an ignition coil. So you will have to come to some sort of choice about it before you can go any further.

what i want is just a relay controller(or transistor if possible), one circuit drives the relay, and i can plug pretty much anything into the relay on the "pulsed" side.
