Im looking to buy used Energy Discharge Capacitors and i already bought one from USA but shipping and taxes are something like 2x the price of single capacitor angry

It would be great if somebody knows place or person who has decent size EDC capacitors to sell somewhere in uk or continental europe.

Defib caps are probably the most readily obtainable - If you're in the West of the UK, These people hold a monthly auction of medical equipment, which usually includes plenty of defibs - older /poor condition ones may go pretty cheaply - I've not been there for a couple of years but once picked up about 5 for around £10-15 each I think. Although now they're doing online sales, bargains may be less plentiful.
Also worth chatting to other bidders, as dealers in medical gear may well have scrap defibs they want to get rid of for peanuts.

Defib caps are the most available but are not wonderful for pulse dicharge stuff. I have used banks of up to 6 (=3kJ) for a can crusher but they died pretty quickly in this use. Normally they discharge through an inductor and a body resistance that is usually above 50 ohms so discharge is more than 1ms. Still, most of my early can crushing stuff used these. The much older larger ones were the most robust and survived.
