I am old enough to remember the Captain Corona who used to contribute to the various lists. Correct me if I am wrong but he now wears the mask of Dr Shock.
Reminds me of the proposal sent to Discovery Channel by Creative differences a few months back.

Peter,
I can feel your pain in this matter, but i can assure you, i was referred to Dr. Shock long before any proposals you sent to the Discovery Channel. Dr. Shock is the name given by my friends and colleagues here at work and is the name i use when i perform demonstrations both corporate and locally with my Tesla coils. (See one of these demonstration schedules from 2003 attached) This name goes back prior to 2000 when I first started working on high voltage transmitters and before I even started building Tesla coils.
So therefore, no i didn't steal your name, or was even aware of your claim to the name - i mean for all intensive purposes, you use your own TeslaDownUnder name.
Also, since you don't own the trademark to Dr. Shock, i see no additional discussion on this matter necessary or even relevant.
In fact, if you do a search on Dr. Shock on GOOGLE, there are hundreds of references of people using that same name. Just because you used it in a proposal doesn't give you sole rights on its usage.
So drop the fuss, and get on back to the usual great stuff you post here.
I only chose the change my regular name here as one (not to be always associated with my company name, and also because it goes with my new avatar!) Thanks!

I suggest a Celebrity Deathmatch to settle it
Maybe not a Celebrity Deathmatch, as i'm no celebrity, but definitely be up for some huge smoke ring vs. giant smoke ring generator duels!

Hey, I'm not bothered, just amused. It's not a name that I have ever used or plan to. I had nothing to do with the proposal at all and was only shown it later. I did discuss with the producers to say that "shock Doc" sounded a bit too much like "Shock Jock" like Howard Stern perhaps. As you say, almost any name you can think of has been used before.
I am glad to see you made it in the program before "Baby rest rooms"
I am just about to go out and try my new top secret orange smoke rings for the first time.

Cool, orange smoke rings. I'm just waiting for a calm day here to do some more smoke rings. I have my son's 3 year birthday party in two weeks, so i'm hoping for some good calm weather then! If its calm enough, i should be able to loft a few over down under.
