Well I think it is definitely a good idea to stop calling this circuit "Royer" or "ZVS", because both is very misleading. I like Mazzilli driver much better.

When I've built a current-fed parallel-resonant invertor (CFPR is it's proper generic name) (ZVS is it's operating condition) the most important constructional variable is; physically close connection of the resonant capacitor and the switching transistors. Any circuit inductance here causes unwanted high-frequency parasitic oscillations. Something to consider when re-building your CFPR invertor.

My planned pulsed SSTC has nothing to do with CFPR invertors. It is using another configuration setup. It is more like the DF-DRSSTC of Terry Fritz (a half bridge pulsed with a signal generator, diac based).
