I need help identifying scooter part.

 		The part came from the electronics(obviously)part of a gas powered scooter. I have seen these in purely electric scooters too. It is in a metal case and the bottom looks like some sort of stuff like they fill flyback transformers with except black.


The scooter has a horn blinkers and when you hit the brake it lights up two brake lights,and has electric start. Anyone have a clue as to what it may be?

 		Knowing what it connects to would make it a lot easier to figure out what it does... The first thing that comes to mind would be the module for a pointless ignition system, but that woulnd't fit well with electric scooters...

Judging by the fact that it was designed to be able to dissapate a bit of power I would assume it has something to do with the battery, either some type of charger or protection circuit.

 		I think that he means that the scooter that this part was taken from is not electric, not the module itself- I had to read that a couple times, too smile

 		On the picture there are no high voltage connections visible so it looks a bit like a voltage regulator.

there are four wires. Two green,one red,and one is yellow.

 		could be the bridge rectifier then.
Test it with a multi meter, I think the green ones would be the AC side.

I dont think it would be a rectifier. The battery is already dc and the charger outputs dc and even if it didn't it would not need such a big rectifier
